BCBSAZ to Offer ACA Individual and Family Plans in Pima County in 2019

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) announced today it will expand its 2019 Affordable Care Act (ACA) coverage for individuals and families to include Pima County.

“As the state’s largest locally owned insurer, and with a corporate office in Tucson, we are always exploring ways to best serve the Pima County community,” said Jeff Stelnik, general manager of individual and family products, BCBSAZ. “Though the ACA market carries some uncertainty, the experience we’ve gained over the past few years, along with our long-standing commitment to Pima County, make 2019 the right year for BCBSAZ to again make individual and family plans available.”

BCBSAZ offers health insurance and related services to more than 1.5 million customers, including 700 businesses, and more than 100,000 members in Pima County.* In 2019 BCBSAZ will sell plans on the Health Insurance Marketplace in 14 of the 15 counties, including Pima County, in Arizona and will be the sole carrier in 13 of them.

BCBSAZ will offer six plans at the Gold, Silver, and Bronze levels in Pima County. Residents can sign up during the 2019 ACA Open Enrollment Period, Nov. 1 to Dec. 15, 2018.
