The Arizona Republic Highlights 2017 Plan Changes

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) has announced its Affordable Care Act (ACA) product line for 2017 coverage. The state’s largest locally-owned health insurance company will offer up to five different individual and family plans—pending regulatory approval—in Pima county along with the rural and underserved areas of the state. The Arizona Republic explores this news and takes a closer look at the Arizona health insurance environment. The story also shares some of BCBSAZ’s reasons for offering plans in 13 out of 15 counties as well as striking a balance between Arizona’s health insurance needs and the extreme financial losses that are a result of ACA.
